Job description

A school in Hertfordshire is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Design Technology Teacher to join their dynamic department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and develop their skills in [Product Design / Resistant Materials / Graphics / Engineering / Food Technology]. This role begins asap in March 2025.

Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical Design Technology lessons across [KS3/KS4/KS5].

  • Foster creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills in students.

  • Teach students how to use a range of tools, machinery, and digital design software safely and effectively.

  • Assess, track, and provide constructive feedback on student progress.

  • Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring lessons are relevant and industry-focused.

  • Maintain and manage DT resources, tools, and workshop spaces to ensure a safe learning environment.

  • Support extracurricular activities, including design clubs, competitions, and school projects.

Ideal Design Technology Teacher:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent).

  • Specialism in [Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, or other relevant fields].

  • Experience or enthusiasm for teaching across [KS3/KS4/KS5].

  • A passion for design, technology, and innovation as a Design Technology Teacher.

  • Strong classroom management and the ability to engage and motivate students.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting.
