We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and proactive Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning in our mixed Year 2/3 class at a great school. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside a passionate team in a school where children are at the heart of everything we do. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

• Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and activities

• Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning and build confidence

• Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs, including those with EHCPs

• Assist with phonics, reading, writing and numeracy interventions

• Help prepare and organise learning materials, classroom resources, and displays

• Promote positive behaviour and support children's emotional wellbeing

• Supervise pupils during break/lunchtimes and transitions as needed

• Contribute to assessments and record-keeping as directed by the teacher

• Communicate effectively with staff and parents to support pupil progress

• Participate in school events, trips and enrichment activities

Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

• Have experience working with children in KS1 or lower KS2

• Hold a relevant TA qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3) – desirable but not essential

• Be confident supporting early reading, phonics and basic maths

• Be patient, adaptable and nurturing in approach

• Demonstrate good communication and teamwork skills as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant.

• Show a genuine passion for helping children succeed and feel valued

• Be committed to safeguarding and the wider school ethos
