We are looking for a caring, committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a wonderful school, supporting a lovely mixed Year 2/3 class. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a nurturing and inclusive school community where every child is known, valued and supported to succeed. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

• Supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons

• Working with individuals and small groups to support learning and confidence

• Assisting with early literacy, phonics and numeracy interventions

• Adapting resources and activities to meet a range of needs, including SEND support

• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in a calm, caring environment

• Helping to prepare learning materials, organise displays and support routines

• Supervising children during break and lunchtimes

• Supporting pupils’ progress through observations, feedback and team discussions

• Taking part in trips, enrichment activities and whole-school events

Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:

• Has experience working with children in a school or early years setting

• Holds a relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification (desirable, but not essential)

• Is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development

• Is calm, flexible, patient and encouraging

• Works well as part of a team and builds positive relationships with staff and families

• Has a good understanding of the KS1 and lower KS2 curriculum (or a willingness to learn)

• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant.
