Job description
We are looking for a caring, committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a wonderful school, supporting a lovely mixed Year 2/3 class. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a nurturing and inclusive school community where every child is known, valued and supported to succeed. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:
Supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons
Working with individuals and small groups to support learning and confidence
Assisting with early literacy, phonics and numeracy interventions
Adapting resources and activities to meet a range of needs, including SEND support
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in a calm, caring environment
Helping to prepare learning materials, organise displays and support routines
Supervising children during break and lunchtimes
Supporting pupils’ progress through observations, feedback and team discussions
Taking part in trips, enrichment activities and whole-school events
Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:
Has experience working with children in a school or early years setting
Holds a relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification (desirable, but not essential)
Is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
Is calm, flexible, patient and encouraging
Works well as part of a team and builds positive relationships with staff and families
Has a good understanding of the KS1 and lower KS2 curriculum (or a willingness to learn)
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant.
