Job description

This school in Hatfield is seeking a dedicated and passionate Design Technology Teacher to join their vibrant and dynamic Design Technology department for the 2025–2026 academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach a subject that allows students to combine creativity with practical skills, while preparing them for the demands of future industries.

Duties as Design Technology Teacher:

 

  • Teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities may be available for the right candidate).

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the curriculum.

  • Mark and assess student work, providing timely, constructive feedback to support their development.

  • Monitor student progress, implement intervention strategies, and differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Maintain a safe, engaging, and positive classroom environment.

  • Contribute to the development of the department’s resources, curriculum, and enrichment activities.

Ideal Design Technology Teacher:

 

  • A qualified teacher (QTS essential) with a strong background in Design Technology.

  • Experience in teaching a range of DT specialisms, such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering.

  • A passionate, creative educator who can inspire and engage students in practical learning.

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to challenge students to achieve their best as a Design Technology Teacher.

  • A proactive team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and contributing to department success.
