Job description
A school in St. Albans is seeking a passionate and adaptable Design Technology Teacher to join a team on a long-term supply basis starting in September 2025. This role is an excellent opportunity for a talented educator to deliver high-quality Design Technology education in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Duties as Design Technology Teacher:
Teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 teaching may be available, depending on experience).
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that inspire students to apply creativity and practical skills.
Mark, assess, and provide feedback on student work in line with school policies.
Track student progress, monitor attainment, and provide support and interventions where necessary.
Maintain a high standard of classroom behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and quality of curriculum delivery.
Ideal Design Technology Teacher:
A qualified teacher (QTS essential) with strong subject knowledge in Design Technology.
Experience teaching a range of Design Technology specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering.
A creative, enthusiastic educator who can inspire students to achieve their best in both practical and theoretical aspects of Design Technology.
Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to establish a positive rapport with students as a Design Technology Teacher.
A flexible, reliable, and proactive team player who can seamlessly integrate into the school community.
