Step Teachers are seeking an experienced E.A.L Teacher located in Wood Green commencing in February 2025. This full-time position is for 20 days initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

Your duties as an E.A.L Teacher:

• Plan and deliver engaging EAL lessons tailored to the needs of individual students or small groups.
• Support students in improving their English language proficiency, helping them to communicate effectively in both social and academic settings.
• Work closely with classroom teachers to provide targeted language support across all subject areas.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of EAL learners at various proficiency levels.
• Assess and track students' language development, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment where EAL students feel valued and encouraged.
• Promote cultural awareness and inclusion within the school community.
• Support students in building confidence in their language skills, helping them to engage fully with their peers and the curriculum.

To be considered for this E.A.L Teacher position, you will:

• Hold a recognised teaching qualification and a specialization or qualification in EAL teaching.
• Have experience teaching English as an Additional Language, preferably in a school setting.
• Have a strong understanding of language acquisition and strategies to support EAL students as an E.A.L Teacher
• Be passionate about working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and parents.
• Be flexible and creative in adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of individual learners.
• Be committed to continuous professional development and staying updated on best practices for EAL teaching.
