We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive English department at a wonderful school. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach English Language and Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 — with potential for KS5 depending on experience. This role begins September 2025.
Duties as an English Teacher:
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in English Language and Literature
Assess student progress and provide effective feedback to support achievement
Foster a love of reading, writing and spoken communication in all students
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning
Contribute to curriculum planning, interventions and enrichment activities
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
Participate in department and whole-school CPD and activities
Ideal English Teacher:
Has QTS (or is working towards it) and a degree in English or related field
Has secure knowledge of the secondary English curriculum (KS3–KS4; KS5 desirable)
Is a strong classroom practitioner with excellent communication skills as an English Teacher.
Has a passion for English and the ability to inspire students of all abilities
Works well as part of a team and is committed to continuous professional growth
Is organised, reflective, and enthusiastic
