Job description
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join this team. As an LSA, you will be providing vital support to students with a range of learning needs, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. Duties as LSA Support:
- Provide tailored support to students with additional learning needs, including in-class support, small group work, and one-to-one assistance
- Assist teachers with the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring differentiation to meet the needs of all students
- Monitor and support students’ academic and social progress, offering encouragement and guidance where needed
- Work closely with other LSAs, teachers, and SENCO to implement individual learning plans (ILPs) or Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being, supporting students’ confidence and social skills
- Assist in the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities
- Provide feedback on student progress to teachers and parents, as well as help track development over time
Ideal LSA Support:
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN)
- A caring and patient nature, with the ability to motivate and encourage students to succeed
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students
- A positive and proactive approach to supporting students in both their academic and personal development as LSA Support
- A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, is desirable but not essential
