Job description

This is a welcoming and inclusive school dedicated to fostering critical thinking, ethical understanding, and cultural awareness. We are seeking a passionate Religious Studies Teacher to inspire students and encourage open-minded discussions on philosophy, ethics, and world religions. This role begins September 2025.

Duties as a Religious Studies Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging Religious Studies lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Encourage critical thinking and meaningful discussions on moral and ethical issues.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Religious Studies examinations (if applicable).
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Create an inclusive and respectful classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including assemblies and extracurricular activities.

Ideal Religious Studies Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Religious Studies, Philosophy, Theology, or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Religious Studies at [Key Stage 3/4/5].
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills as a Religious Studies Teacher.
  • A passion for inspiring students and fostering respect for different perspectives.
  • The ability to promote thoughtful debate and independent thinking.
