Job description

We are seeking a passionate, committed and innovative Maths Teacher to join a high-performing department at a wonderful school. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team that places student success and progress at the heart of everything we do. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Maths Teacher:

 

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5, if applicable)

  • Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with departmental and school policies

  • Use data effectively to monitor progress, identify areas for development, and set challenging targets

  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to support pupil progress and attainment

  • Create a safe, stimulating and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning

  • Participate in the development of curriculum plans, schemes of work, and departmental initiatives

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities, interventions and events

  • Attend and contribute to departmental, pastoral and whole-school meetings as required

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support learning and wellbeing

  • Uphold and model the school’s values, policies and expectations at all times

  • Engage in professional development and remain up to date with curriculum and pedagogy changes

Ideal Maths Teacher:

 

  • Has QTS and a relevant degree in Mathematics or a related subject

  • Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching maths

  • Is reflective, resilient and driven to continually improve their practice

  • Has strong classroom management and the ability to inspire learners of all abilities

  • Works well as part of a collaborative and supportive team

  • Is committed to the wider life of the school and supporting pupils beyond the classroom
