Job description

Class Act are seeking an experienced Music Teacher located in Faringdon commencing in February 2025. This full-time position is for 20 days initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion.

Your duties as a Music Teacher:

  • Deliver, and assess music lessons for students at secondary level.
  • Teach a range of musical styles and genres, using both theoretical and practical approaches.
  • Develop and maintain a stimulating and inclusive music curriculum.
  • Support students in extracurricular music activities, including school bands, choirs, and performances.
  • Foster students' creativity and confidence through individual and group music performances.
  • Assess and monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Organize and participate in music-related events, concerts, and performances.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote music throughout the school and engage students in musical opportunities.
  • Contribute to the school's overall development and extracurricular offerings.

To be considered for this Music Teacher position, you will:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a specialism in music.
  • Proven experience teaching music in a classroom setting.
  • Strong proficiency in playing a variety of instruments (e.g., piano, guitar, drums, etc.).
  • A deep passion for music and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons to cater to a wide range of abilities and interests.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
