Job description

This school is seeking a dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s learning and development within a supportive and inclusive school environment. This role begins April 2025.

Duties as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, ensuring they have access to the curriculum.

  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and work closely with the class teacher and SENCO.

  • Support the pupil’s social, emotional and behavioural needs.

  • Use appropriate strategies and resources to enhance learning and engagement.

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/carers.

Ideal SEN 121 Teaching Assiatnt:

 

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly on a 1:1 basis.

  • A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant.

  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).

  • Knowledge of strategies to support children with [specific needs, e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties].
