Job description

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join their team and provide tailored, high-quality support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SEN Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEN.

  • Work with the SENCO and other staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.

  • Provide one-to-one or small group instruction to support academic and social development.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.

  • Support students with communication, behaviour, and emotional development in and outside of the classroom.

  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.

  • Promote an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Ideal SEN Teacher:

 

  • A degree in Education, SEN, or a relevant field.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.

  • Experience teaching students with SEN, ideally in a mainstream or specialist setting.

  • Strong knowledge of SEN strategies and teaching practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as a SEN Teacher

  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to working with students with additional needs.
