Job description

There is a vibrant and forward-thinking primary school committed to nurturing every child’s potential. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Year 5/6 Teacher to inspire and guide their students through these important Key Stage 2 years, preparing them for their transition to secondary school. This role is for September 2025.

Duties as a Year 5/6 Teacher:

 

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum.

  • Foster a positive, stimulating classroom environment where students feel supported and motivated to achieve.

  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support improvement.

  • Encourage students’ personal and social development, ensuring they are prepared for the challenges ahead.

  • Differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support the overall development of students and the wider school community.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and welfare.

  • Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Ideal Year 5/6 Teacher:

 

  • A degree in Education or a relevant subject.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.

  • Experience teaching Year 5 or Year 6, with a good understanding of the curriculum and assessment processes.

  • Strong classroom management skills and a positive approach to teaching.

  • Ability to motivate, engage, and challenge students to achieve their best.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as a Year 5/6 Teacher.
