Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Year 5 Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking Key Stage 2 team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a group of motivated pupils as they begin to take greater ownership of their learning and prepare for the challenges of upper KS2.

We welcome applications from experienced teachers and ECTs who are committed to high-quality teaching and developing confident, independent learners. This begins September 2025.

Duties as a Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and well-structured lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum.

  • Develop pupils’ academic skills as well as their social, emotional, and moral development.

  • Use assessment data effectively to track progress and inform planning.

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and personal growth.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and families to support each child’s learning journey.

Ideal Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and expectations.

  • Excellent classroom management and a proactive approach to teaching.

  • A commitment to inclusion and raising attainment for all learners.

  • A positive attitude, flexibility, and a team-oriented mindset as a Year 5 Teacher.
