Job description

Step Teachers are seeking an experienced Primary School Teacher located in Whitleigh commencing in February 2025. This full-time position is for 3 months initially, with potential extension based on performance and school discretion. 

This is a is a vibrant, inclusive primary school where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. They boast an overall 'good' rating from Ofsted.

Your duties as a Primary School Teacher:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Provide effective differentiation to meet the needs of all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to promote their development.
  • Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants to provide additional support to students.
  • Foster a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel valued and respected.
  • Develop strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support the holistic development of children.
  • Take part in school-wide activities, such as assemblies, extracurricular clubs, and events.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and performance appraisals.

To be considered for this Primary School Teacher position, you will: 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and inclusive lessons that cater to a wide range of learning styles as a Primary School Teacher.
  • A passion for teaching and making a positive difference in the lives of children.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
